Location
Old Well Cottage is in a tiny hamlet consisting of only 7 houses and is situated between the villages of Troon and Praze-an-Beeble . Set at the bottom of a valley it is extremely quiet, the most noise you may hear would come from the River Connor which runs past at the bottom of the garden. There are no shops but the local villages are only a couple of miles away, 5 minutes in the car or 25 minute walk. Troon has a Co-op with a post office and a very good fish and chip shop and Praze has a village pub which has recently been refurbished and is fast building a reputation for good food and well kept real ales, it also has a the famous Philps Bakery who in our opinion make one of the best Cornish pasties in Cornwall.
You can use the interactive map on the right to have a look around and see just how close you will be to some of the most spectacular scenery not just in Cornwall but the whole of the United Kingdom. On our local attractions page there are further details of some ideas for places to visit but some more notable areas worth a mention here as well are The Eden Project which is a 40 minute drive, St Ives 20 minutes, Padstow 40 minutes, Lands End 45 minutes, Cadwith Cove 40 minutes. Having a car is a bonus being able to visit these magical places however there are plenty of places close by to keep those non drivers more than contented. It is worth mentioning once more that the cottage grounds attract such a vast array of birds and wildlife that you could spend your entire break enjoying the peace and tranquility without even leaving the property.
